The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. ~ Walt Disney

The DRF scholarships that students receive pays homage to those individuals and companies who had a significant impact on the establishment of the DRF academic program.

Create:

Mark and Amey Grubbs along with members of the Dude Ranchers’ Association (DRA), had the vision to start the scholarship fund in 1989. It was their foresight to provide financial assistance to post-secondary students studying in the fields relating to or enhancing the dude ranch industry. Without their vision and hard work there would not be a DRF scholarship program. The scholars have gone on to ranches and businesses that ensure a healthy industry.

Facilitate:

For many years the sole source of the income for the DRF scholarships were the auction held at the Dude Ranchers’ Association convention. Without the energy, sense of humor, and theatrical flair of our auctioneers Cameron Garnick, Will Ferguson and Bill Ferguson the funds raised would not be nearly as much. Not to mention all the DRA member ranchers as well as our valued vendors, corporate members, and friends of the DRF who donated and bid on items.

Perpetuate:

Philadelphia Insurance Companies has been a major contributor to the DRF scholarship program through their support of the horse safety program. Without this generosity the amount of the scholarships could not be sustained at its current level.
